Underweight Complications
Being underweight has equal complications as overweight.
If a person is underweight, their body may not get enough nutrients to maintain it health.
Here are few side effects of being underweight-
- Osteoporosis–
Women’s bone gets brittle and more prone to breaking.
- Skin, hair or teeth problems–
Hairs get dry, skin gets thinner and teeth become poorer.
- Getting Sick frequently-
If your body does not get enough nutrients; your immune system will get weak.
As a result, you may get sick more frequently and common illness syndrome such as cold lasts longer than usual.
- Feeling tired all the time–
If you do not have enough calories to maintain healthy weight you may feel fatigued all the time.
- Anemia–
If your body does not have enough nutrients; you tend to have low blood counts. As a result you will become anemic which causes dizziness, fatigue and headaches.
- Irregular Periods-
Underweight women may face the problem of not having regular periods or delayed menstruation and this may cause infertility.
- Premature births-
Underweight pregnant women are at higher risk of pre-term labor.
- Slow or impaired growth-
The person will not develop as expected.
