All About Mission Gaganyaan
ISRO and CNES, the French space agency have tied up to work together in building the mission Gaganyaan.
CNES will be working towards Space health, medicine, health monitoring, life support, radiation protection, space debris protection and astronaut’s personal hygiene.
With this Gaganyaan project, India will send its astronauts in space by 2022. Under this three flights will be sent; two unmanned and one human spaceflight. The human spaceflight will have three astronauts including a woman and will circle the earth at a low earth orbit at an altitude of 300-400 kms
The success of the mission will rekindle people’s imagination and will attract young generations. This mission would create 15000 employment opportunities and with this launch, India will be 4th nation after US, Russia and China to build their space stations.
The Gaganyaan will enhance the Science and Technology level in the nation and serves as national project to inspire money. The mission will provide a unique micro-gravity platform in the space to India for conducting experiments and test for future technologies.
ISRO’s GSLV MK 3, the three stage heavy lift launch vehicle will be used to launch Gaganyaan as it has the necessary payload capabilities.
The spacecraft will be placed in a low earth orbit of 300-400 kms.
The space-suits are being developed by Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvananthpuram.
This will rotate around the Earth in every 90 minute and the astronauts will be able to witness the sun’s rise and set in India while conducting experiments on the Micro-Gravity.
Rs. 10000 crore has been sanctioned by the Govt. of India on this project.
This project will boost up the industries as 60% of its equipment will be taken from Indian private sector.
Gaganyaan will not only bring about prestige to the nation but also establish India’s role as a key player in the space industry.
